"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams has filed to divorce Simon Guobadia after 15 months of marriage.
Williams filed her petition Thursday in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY Friday. As a spouse, she is "entitled to a divorce from (Guobadia) on the grounds that the marriage is irretrievably broken ... and there are no prospects for a reconciliation," her filing reads.
In her filing, Williams states that she and Guobadia "are currently living in a bona fide state of separation" and also requests that the court enforce the prenuptial agreement the couple entered into on Nov. 17, 2022, a few days before they were married on Nov. 22, 2022. She also asks for Guobadia to be ordered to pay her "reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation incurred" through this divorce.
People was first to break the news Friday. USA TODAY has reached out to Williams' reps for comment.
Porsha Williams, Simon Guobadia went public soon after Falynn Pina split
In May 2021, the couple went public, with Williams confirming her "beautiful" new relationship with Guobadia, who is the ex-husband of her "Real Housewives of Atlanta" co-star Falynn Pina, in an Instagram post.
"Our relationship began a month ago — yes we are crazy in love. I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest," Williams captioned the photo of her and Guobadia. "I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes."
Williams said she understood the "optics" but wrote that Simon Guobadia's divorce from Falynn Pina was finalized and she had nothing to do with the split.
Simon Guiobadia reciprocated by going Instagram official with Williams and revealing that the two were engaged to be married.
"I asked her to marry me because we checked ALL of each other’s boxes, and then some," he wrote. "What we have is what we wish every single one of you out there - happiness. So when I asked...she said yes. That is ALL that mattered."
Williams joined "Real Housewives" during the fifth season as the wife of former NFL player Kordell Stewart. The couple divorced in 2013. She shares daughter Pilar McKinley with her ex, Dennis McKinley.
Earlier this month, Bravo announced Williams would be returning to "RHOA" after two years, shortly after Kandi Burruss shared she would be bowing out of the reality show following Season 15. Williams starred in Season 3 of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip," which filed in Thailand and aired last year.
